Find Source Theatres
The Directors of the Prize have established that plays will be received from specified professional theatres (“Source Theatres”) throughout the US, the UK and the Republic of Ireland, as well as other English-speaking countries. Source Theatres are select professional companies with a track record of producing new work by women+. Each year, letters inviting submissions go out to these Source Theatres during the second half of August. Plays are due by September 15th in North America, and by September 18th in the UK and other countries. Women+ includes women, trans, and non-binary writers.
Plays are eligible whether or not they have been produced, but any premiere production must have occurred within the preceding calendar year. Previous winning playwrights are not eligible. Plays should be full length and musicals are not eligible. We do not accept plays directly from playwrights.
