Synopsis: A Cubist play about love(rs) and Dreamers, set in pre-DACA America. A recently-naturalized teenager plans to marry her undocumented best friend so he can stay in the country, stirring dangers and desires that threaten their life-long bond.

Set/Costume Requirements: A bare stage. With perhaps a surprise. While the play is still in development, I believe it’s possible to perform it with nothing but actors onstage – and two small, specific props in Part One. Part Two can be manifested “realistically” with a full set to look like a small apartment in Newark, NJ – or not. Contemporary dress.

Bio: Martyna Majok was born in Bytom, Poland and raised in NJ and Chicago. She was awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Cost of Living (Williamstown Theatre Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club).
