Finalist 2014-15

Lindsey Ferrentino

Play: Ugly Lies the Bone

Lindsay -Ferrentino

Synopsis: Female soldier Jess returns from war severely burned only to find her Floridian hometown in a state of decay. With the use of virtual reality video game therapy, she desperately tries to restore her relationships, home, and all that was lost.

Cast Breakdown: 3 F, 2 M

Jess - early 30's severely distorted by third degree burns, uses a walker quick-witted, intelligent, tough trying to have strength in her body, vulnerability in her life

Kacie - Jess' older sister by a few years was probably beautiful once sweet, trying hard for positivity

Stevie - early 30's an inviting smile that makes you want to live in it life just keeps happening to him

Kelvin - older than Kacie too comfortable in his own skin

Voice/Their Mom - 60's passionate, powerful, maternal casting preference should be given to someone with a strong vocal quality

*Cast can be any race and should hopefully reflect some diversity in this world.

Set/Costume Requirements: In an ideal world, I imagine a slice of living room with a roof above, the convenience store counter, and a separate light for the "therapy" scenes. I think it is more important to achieve the claustrophobic-Floridian-realism for the "reality" scenes, rather than any concept having to do with virtual/video games. The home should be covered in pictures of the past so that the past is quite literally inescapable. Jess is covered in third degree burns.
