Synopsis: Saoirse Murphy moves from one chaotic world to another. From her Catholic school in County Wicklow to a new exciting life in London. She’s had a taste of freedom and she’s making the most of it; but underneath it all she’s struggling to manage big secrets, and there’s only one person she can talk to.

Set/Costume Requirements: My preference is to perform the play on an empty stage that becomes covered in debris / mess. When I perform the play any props that Saoirse needs, she gets from a fanny pack/ bum bag. I am open to seeing it done in other ways too. Saoirse’s costume is relaxed and appropriate to move around in. i.e. gym gear / sweat pants / trainers.

Bio: Sarah Hanly’s monologue Shower was staged at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin as part of the Dear Ireland series, 2020. Sarah was awarded the 2019 Pinter Commission. Her debut play, Purple Snowflakes and Titty Wanks premiered at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, in October 2021. The play is co-produced by the Royal Court Theatre, London, and the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. It will open at the Royal Court Theatre in February 2022.
