How to submit a play to the Prize The Directors of the Prize have established that plays will be received only from specified sources, which include professional theatres throughout the US, the UK and the Republic of Ireland, as well as other English-speaking countries. Each year, letters requesting submissions go out to the list of theatres (see links below) during the second half of August, and plays are submitted by September 15th in North America and September 20th in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The Prize is presented at an awards ceremony in February or March. Therefore, if you would like to be a candidate for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, we suggest you bring your work to the attention of one of the theatres on the list. While many of the plays have not been produced, works which have had a first production within a year of September 20th will be accepted. Source Theatres (UK and Republic of Ireland) |
